Floss Walker, Our Friend, Mother, Aunt, and Grandma, died on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 after a full and courageous dance with life. She was 93 years old. She passed away peacefully with her daughters in attendance at Southminster Hospice.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, R. Lloyd Walker, her oldest daughter, Barbara Walker Hill, and her brother Howard (Bud) Malcom Smith.
Floss was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Michigan. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College, Class of 1945. She married Lloyd Walker in 1947. They started raising...

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, R. Lloyd Walker, her oldest daughter, Barbara Walker Hill, and her brother Howard (Bud) Malcom Smith.
Floss was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Michigan. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College, Class of 1945. She married Lloyd Walker in 1947. They started raising a family of 4 daughters and moved to Charlotte, NC in 1960.
She was a member of the Bridge Playing, Wine Drinking, Book Clubbing, Family Joy and Laughter Club. She basked in the love of her family.
She is survived by;Daughters, Kathryn W. House of Burnsville, NC, Judith (Judy) W. Packer of Raleigh, NC, and Patricia (Patti) W. Moody of Fort Mill, SC;
Beloved Sons-in-law, Erle Hill of Raleigh, NC, Mike House of Burnsville, NC, Jed Packer of Raleigh, and Bruce Moody of Fort Mill, SC;
Grandchildren, Lee Hill and spouse Jamie Hill of Raleigh, NC, Matthew Hill of Durham, NC, Sarah House and spouse Kevin Freeman of Burnsville, NC, Lucas House of Raleigh, NC, Travis Packer of Warrenton, NC, Allyson Packer of Albuquerque, NM, Laura Moody and spouse Emily Smith of Raleigh, NC, and Valerie Moody and fiance Christian Datz of Charleston, SC;
Great-grandchildren, Kalen, Gray, and Shaw Freeman of Burnsville, NC and Corinna and Elliott Hill of Raleigh, NC.
A Celebration of Floss' life will be held at her long-time home, Brookdale Carriage Club, 5800 Old Providence Road, in Charlotte at 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 10, 2017.
