Marvin Francis Schubert, 86, of Charlotte, NC passed away on August 7, 2017 surrounded by his immediate family at Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC.
Marvin was born in St. Joseph, MO on March 30, 1931. He graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School in 1949. After graduating from high school, Marvin enlisted in the US Navy on June 7, 1949 and served as an aviation storekeeper after his basic training at Great Lakes. Marvin Francis Schubert, 86, of Charlotte, NC passed away on August 7, 2017 surrounded by his immediate family at Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC.
Marvin was born in St. Joseph, MO on March 30, 1931. He graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School in 1949. After graduating from high school, Marvin enlisted in the US Navy on June 7, 1949 and served as an aviation storekeeper after his basic training at Great Lakes. Marvin also was stationed in Memphis, TN, Corpus Christi, TX, Jacksonville, FL and San Diego, CA. He received his Honorable Discharge from the Navy on April 6, 1953. On April 26, 1952, Marvin married the love of his life, Carolyn Jean Wicks. He worked as a branch manager for Columbia Pictures for 21 years. Marvin also worked in real estate in Charlotte and as an agent for the TSA at Charlotte-Douglas Intl Airport. He enjoyed golf, playing for over fifty years.
Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Leveta Machoviak Schubert and Marvin F. Schubert Sr.; sisters, Betty Schubert Kinney and Mary Schubert McGee and brother James Schubert.
Marvin is survived by his wife loving wife of 65 years, Carolyn Jean; sons, Marvin (Patricia) Schubert, Mark (Jennete) Schubert and Michael (Mari Louise) Schubert; granddaughters, Hannah Schubert and Lauren (Greg) Middleton; brother Charles (Connie) Schubert along with other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A private graveside service will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery with Michael Schubert officiating the service.
