TODD WILSON

BETHALTO - Todd Allen Wilson,45, formerly of Bethalto, died unexpectedly Thursday, November 24, 2016 near his home in Charlotte, NC. He was born in Alton, Il., the son of Donald and Janet Wilson. They survive. He married Julie Jensen on June 20, 1997 and she survives.

Todd graduated in 1989 from Civic Memorial High School where he wrestled and played football. One former teammate refers to him as one their 'gentle giants'. He played football for Aurora University in 1989-1990. Todd graduated in 1994 from NE Missouri State where he had wrestled for 3 years. This is where he met Julie. He then obtained his degree in 1999 from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. After nearly 15 years in Chiropractic, Todd decided he could more compassionately serve the community by entering the nursing field. He was employed as an RN at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

In addition to his wife and parents, Todd is survived by a brother, Craig Aaron Wilson (Michelle); Craig's children Christian, Morgan, Canaan and Mikayla; numerous other nieces and nephews; aunts Linda Bechtold (Vince), Katherine Perkins, Phyllis Norris Helm (Tommy); uncle James Norris; numerous cousins and innumerable friends.

A celebration of Todd's life is scheduled for 4:00 PM Friday, December 2nd, at Johnson Road General Baptist Church, 2033 Johnson Road, Granite City, Il. Pastor Larry Blankley will officiate the service. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.

Todd never met a creature, from a fallen baby bird to a stray dog, that he didn't try to help. His current rescue dog, Elkie, was by his side when he passed.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made in Todd's name to 5A's (a non-profit/no kill shelter) at www.fiveas.org or Facebook/5A's Animal Shelter.
